Advanced Camera Movements - Blog Investigation

Image
Find three video examples on YouTube of each of the following and embed it in the Blog: -Crane Footage: I would use this for time lapses like the last example and it would add a cool way of showing how much time has passed since the shot before it. For this it could be used to follow a character and use scale to show how one person is closer than the other. I really wouldnt know how to use it other than using it to show a transition and a change in the shots, -Slider Footage: This could be used to pan from one character to another and show one moving away while one stays still. It could also show a face off between two characters in one shot with a pan. For the slider it could be a good way to transition from one scene to another like in between go threw a item or a person to show a time change. Its like when you walk into the camera and then away from it. It can be used to show time change or change in that moment. -Drone Footage: The drone shots could show the full landsc...

Select Your Genre

My genre choice is crime because has to do with problem solving and mystery. Since my presentation was crime I already have a background for crime films and what is included in the crime genre. I've read a lot of mystery books especially when I was a kid so looking for inspiration is pretty simple to find. I have a whole pile of crime/mystery books for reference. My position would be providing ideas and script ideas. With crime you could look and solved and unsolved cases and also cold cases. T he genre I most prefer is crime. I’m drawn to this genre because I like to watch documentary’s and I like to look at different cassava over the years and come up with my own theory’s or ideas. They make me curious about how the case could have gone and what could be done to solve the case. The crime genre I think appeals to my sense of mystery and observing what is going on in the case. The main director that made a few crime films was Alfred Hitchcock and one of the fi...

Critique Review Blog Post

1. Effective ways to improve design and cinematography. To improve design take inspiration from different art pieces and films. Sometimes looking at other peoples work will give you inspiration to give you ideas for your own film. You can then integrate these ideas into your own film and use references to signal that it could be from that art or film. You can then point out these to others and they'll see how you incorporated that in. For cinematography you cant take directly take the scene from the film you're taking inspiration fro but you can take similarities from the film and add them in. For design it's a bit more simple, for example trying to add more color or have a specific mood. 2. Ideas for improving technical aspects such as audio recording, editing, titles, and color grading. To improve  audio recording, editing, titles, and color grading etc, you can talk with the group or in the script you can add different ...

Inglourious Basterds Review

What's a Spaghetti Western ? Spaghetti Western, also known as Italian Western, is a broad sub-genre of Western films that emerged in the mid-1960s in the wake of Sergio Leone's film-making style and international box-office success, “A Fistful of Dollars”. The term was used by critics in USA and other countries because most of these Westerns were produced and directed by Italians. According to actor Aldo Sambrell, the phrase 'Spaghetti Western' was coined by Italian journalist Alfonso Sancha. In the beginning the term was used in a derogatory sense, but over time it has become accepted as descriptive. The typical Spaghetti Western team was made up of an Italian director, Italo-Spanish technical staff, and a cast of Italian, Spanish, German and American actors, sometimes a fading Hollywood star and sometimes a rising one. Why would Tarantino use this genre for a World War II movie? It allows for there to be a "hero" figure that really was a "bad guy...
