End of MP 3 Presentations Reflection
After looking at and hearing all my classmates talk about their work for the second marking period, it's giving me ideas and inspiration for future projects.
The first person that inspired me was Aaron. I really liked the idea of doing a film study instead of doing an actual film with actors. It's also a very interesting theme of Dada, which I’d never heard of before his presentation. I liked the way that Aaron also embraced this chaotic theme or editing and just in general. I learned that not everything has to be necessarily perfect and in a set style. I will also keep in mind doing a film study instead of a film since sometimes making a film is too much. I liked the themes of expressionism and I'll definitely incorporate that into my work too. I also like how he talked about the differences between subjective and objective films and metamodern. Overall I really liked the themes Aaron chose to go with and the choice to do a video. I will definitely take inspiration from that in the future.
The second person I took inspiration from was Erika. I really liked the idea of doing vlogging, since it's not really a genre of videos talked about that often in the media. I also liked the idea of getting inspiration from other youtube channels so that she could come up with some ideas of what to film and do. I do think it is hard to do vlogs since it is difficult sometimes to have something to film, but the idea to give her dog a bath I think was a good video to do. The idea of making an actual youtube video for her project was very creative and I never really thought of doing that for a film. I also liked the idea of editing in two different apps, I do that for my films too. I make a rough draft in iMovie to show my cousins to make sure they like it and to see if we need to redo anything, then I go in and edit it in premiere pro. Overall I do like the ideas Erica and I'll definitely keep in mind making a regular youtube video.
The third person I took inspiration from was Sean. I liked the idea for Paintology and know The Space Where Home Exists where he used music as an inspiration. I actually took inspiration for the film I’m working on now from his last presentation using a music theme (kinda). I liked how his film was really thought through and also the editing at the end was also very good and clever. It was very short, but also it really had a good plot and had a good idea. I also like having quarantine being incorporated, but instead being stuck on a planet. I liked the overall sci-fi element and I also think it was very creative since I think it would be harder with limited time and I’m sure editing space was very time-consuming. Also, the choice to film on a regular phone was also a good idea too, seeing if a phone or a camera would be better to film. Overall I do like the ideas Sean had and I'll definitely think about the sci-fi ideas he had since they were very creative.
