End of MP 2 Presentations Reflection

After looking at and hearing them talk about their work for the first marking period, I've defiantly been inspired by my classmates and their ideas and film techniques.

The first person that really inspired me was Aaron's work for the first marking period. I really liked how he had a set idea right away of what he was going to do and I feel like his theme was a good choice for what he made. The way that he shot and edited his films was a really unique and also a fun experience to watch and interpret. I thinks it’s also really cool how he decided to make a music video instead of a film. Even though it wasn't a film we could still he how he interpreted his theme in his music video. I've learned that its fun to have your own way of editing and interpreting a theme and that will definitely be a thing that I will incorporate and have fun with.

The next person that really inspired me was Erika’s film. I think it was really creative the way that she took her theme and made it relatable and really showed her theme. It was really smart to use just her room so it made it feel like very realistic and really shows how you can make a film with just a room. She really made you feel like you where in her shoes and stuck in that room with her, dealing with what she's dealing with. She took a topic we are all dealing with, online school, and she portrayed how it feels being stuck at home doing school and really showed the human experience. I also liked how Erika never showed her face so it really felt like that was us in the film. Something I will take away from this film and incorporate in my films, is that you can really make a lot from just being in a room and still interpret that any way.

The last person that really inspired me was Sean’s film. I think it was amazing how he took a song and made a whole film inspired by it. It was really creative how in the film, art coincides with emotions and how its portrayed in the film. As the art is being made it shows how the character is finding themselves and its really a unique way to tell a story through a piece of artwork. I also like how it was very professional and it felt like a movie that would be shown at some kind of art festival. I like how the film also gave you a message without seeming too vague. In between the shots of the painting we see the colors and emotions being described and its really amazing way to show how the character is feeling and how we go through emotions. Something I was definitely integrate in my work is that you don't have to be direct in the message you give and that really inspiration can come from anywhere, including a song.
